As the academic year comes to an end, I shift focus to the near future with my second year of bachelor's, B2. Throughout this year I have planned ahead and paved the way for my future.
Having explored various topics in design, I have come to realize that my passion within design lies in the biomedical field. To further develop myself in this field of design I actively searched for opportunities.
I have been selected to join the Honors track: Empowerment for Health & Well-being. This opportunity fits hand-in-glove with my vision of the future as well as my passion for design. I envision a future where designers design to solve problems effectively, innovatively, and simplistically. Honors will provide me with the perfect chance to utilize my design background to contribute to the biomedical field.
Additionally, I have also selected Health as my USE track and Project 2 squad. I believe that it is essential for me to delve into the health sector sharply at this point in my bachelor's. This is because as an industrial designer, I will not always have the same knowledge background as biomedical engineers. To overcome this and make the knowledge gap as minimal as possible, it is important for me to involve myself in health and biomedical projects in the near future.
I also plan to gain first-hand experience through an internship with a biomedical device company. I have already had the chance to explore how those companies operate through one of the extracurricular activities I attended.
Essentially, the goal is to combine my design perspective with biomedical advancements to further improve the field to create devices that improve people's health.
